The Black Mamba represented Portugal in Rotterdam with Love Is On My Side. The song is written by Pedro Tatanka, the lead singer.

For 2021 the RTP organised the 55th Festival da Canção.  On Januari 20 the songs were revealed.

The 2020 winner was Medo De Sentir by Elisa (Silva). Elisa was not among the 2021 Festival da Canção contestants.
